To earn this recognition, a company’s four most recent annual reports must meet the following criteria:
- A turnover exceeding 10 million SEK
- At least ten employees
- At least doubled its turnover between the first and the last year of the review period
- Increased its turnover every year for the past three years
- A positive total operating profit over the four-year period
- Grown organically, not through acquisitions or mergers
- Sound and stable finances
As you can see, the requirements are quite specific.
The reason DI highlights companies that meet these criteria is simple — they want to promote sustainable growth.
The term “gazelle” wasn’t coined by DI, but refers to the companies that create the most new jobs and drive the economy forward.
